This G&PS website is designed to help staff and students across the University access
information about key functions overseen by the Centre.
Some of this information concerns key planning documents, policies and procedures,
decision-making pathways and statistical information. The website also provides information
on the roles played by G&PS and who to contact for further information relating to
G&PS’s core activities which include:

Supporting and enhancing governance and decision-making (eg. Council, Vice-Chancellery
and Academic Board processes). |
| Compliance Processes |
Supporting and enhancing statutory and other compliance processes (eg. legal
support, Records Management, Copyright, EEO, formal student complaints, FOI, ACC,
elections, course approvals and research ethics approval processes). |
| Policy and Planning |
Providing policy, planning and academic support activities and services, especially
related to the development of ECU’s academic and diversity profiles. |
| Strategic Information |
Collecting, analysing and reporting statistical and other information to meet
external requirements and to support information based decision-making (eg. Student
Data Collections, Equity Groups data and reporting, load planning). |

Strategic support for whole-of-University quality improvement arrangements. |
| Executive Support |
Other executive administrative support services (eg. Executive Officer and other
support to the Vice-Chancellor and the Vice-Chancellery Team). |
| Legal Services |
Providing specialist advice and assistance within ECU, including: provision of professional advice; preparation and negotiation of legal contracts; copyright; intellectual property; legal matters relating to complaints, disputes and grievances; addressing of Federal and State legislative requirements. |
| Public and Corporate Relations |
Providing specialist advice in the following areas: Public Relations, including issues management and media liaison; Corporate Communications, including the development and implementation of internal communications campaigns and the presentational aspects of key corporate documents such as the Annual Report; protocol and visitors services; corporate events and graduation ceremony management; Alumni relations, and friend fundraising development. ECU's Musuem of Childhood and the ECU Art Collection are features of the University's profile and are located within the Unit. |
