Faculty Ethics Sub-committees

The University Human Research Ethics Committee (HREC) has established Faculty Ethics Subcommittees. Terms of Reference for the Faculty Ethics Subcommittees have been endorsed by the Academic Board.

The Subcommittees have delegated authority to review and approve research by students for the following projects:

• Undergraduate
• Honours
• Masters by coursework

All research proposals considered by the Faculty Ethics Subcommittees must be LOW RISK. If an application is considered to be greater than LOW RISK, it must be referred on to the University Human Research Ethics Committee.

For information on how to apply for ethics approval through the Faculty Ethics Sub-Committees, please contact the representative from your faculty.
