About the Centre for Learning and Teaching (CLT)
CLT Vision
CLT is a key driver for positively influencing quality learning and development for all teaching staff and for all students at ECU.
CLT Mission
The CLT will actively promote and enhance the quality of the student experience at ECU by building our capacity to deliver world-class educational outcomes.
This mission supports the following themes and strategic priorities set in the ECU Strategic Plan:
- Service: Encouraging and supporting the highest standards of learning and teaching
- Professionalism: Building on, and expanding, the University’s strengths in professional education and training to produce graduates who
contribute to the workforce and the economy
- Enterprise: Building a culture which constantly seeks to improve itself by supporting and rewarding initiatives which enhance the University’s
learning and teaching performance
- Strategic Priority 1: Enhancing Teaching, Learning and Research:
ECU will become a national leader in the education of learners for the
knowledge based service professions, and will be recognised for the quality of its teaching and its learning opportunities in those fields. ECU is a
teaching and research university, and research will inform its teaching especially research into the scholarship of teaching and learning.
- Strategic Priority 3: Building Partnerships, Pathways and Precincts.
ECU will strengthen pathways in ways which are consistent with its
strategic direction and mission. This will facilitate articulation between the different sectors of education and training, and improve the
University’s market share and general positioning.
- Strategic Priority 4: Improving Outcomes for Students and Staff.
ECU will provide a challenging and supportive environment suited to the
students and staff that work and study at the University, so they can realise their potential and develop the skills and flexibility needed to succeed
in their careers. It will shape policies, programs, services and infrastructure to foster the active engagement of students and staff in support of
ECU’s strategic positioning as a leader in education for the service professions.
- Strategic Priority 5: Strengthening Enterprise and the Resource Base.
ECU will strengthen enterprise and the resource base to enhance its
capacity to deliver high quality teaching, learning, research and services in the context of an increasingly challenging and competitive
environment.
