PDC111 - PDC112 - PDC113 CoursesThis page contains the following: PDC Course Descriptions PDC Course DescriptionsEdith Cowan University requires all new academic staff to participate in professional development relating to university teaching and learning. To address this, the following professional development is provided: PDC111Teaching@ECU: Getting StartedTarget Group: All new teaching staff at ECU, regardless of prior teaching experience, are required to attend "PDC111Teaching@ECU: Getting Started", prior to commencing teaching. Duration: 3 hour workshop, plus lunch or a light supper. PDC112Teaching@ECU: Sessional TeachingTarget Group: All new sessional staff are required to attend "PDC112 Teaching@ECU: Sessional Teaching ". Duration: One full day workshop and the equivelant of six hours of further relevant teaching related activities. PDC113Teaching@ECU: Principles and PracticesTarget Group: All new full-time and part-time staff in ongoing and fixed-term contracts and existing academics seeking to refresh their teaching. Duration: A one semester course (equivalent to one unit of study) commencing with a two day workshop, followed by a range of planned teaching related development activities negotiated with the course coordinator. The course consists of an equivalent of thirty-six hours of contact time. Staff requesting a waiver must complete the application form attached as an appendix to the Professional Development Tertiary Teaching (PDTT) policy found below. PDTT PolicyThe Professional Development Tertiary Teaching (PDTT) policy advises new academic staff of the professional development requirements at Edith Cowan University. This includes advice on the completion of the above mentioned PDC111, PDC112 and PDC113 courses.
