Technology Offerings and Quality

Central to everything we do at ECU is quality.

To ensure that technology-related courses offered to staff through Professional Development are of the highest quality, the TTL Program supports ongoing quality review.

Following each technology-related workshop offered through Professional Development, participants complete an evaluation form. This feedback is kept in a central repository, where it is analyzed, distributed and acted upon. For example, as a direct result of feedback, several new Blackboard courses have been designed and developed and currently on offer:

• Blackboard Start: 4-hour introduction to Blackboard (licencing course)
• Blackboard Refresh: 2-hour refresher workshop for Blackboard-licenced persons
• Blackboard Tutor: 1-hour workshop of essential skills for access and discussion board monitoring
• Blackboard Build: 3-hour, hands-on workshop (for unit development)

Advanced Blackboard Workshops:

• Blackboard Prepare: 2-hour workshop on file types and good file management practices
• Blackboard Assess: 3-hour workshop on Blackboard assessment resources
• Blackboard Discuss: 2-hour workshop on the effective use of Blackboard discussion boards
• Blackboard Video: 2-hour workshop on the processes required to produce and use digital video
