About this website
Online Learning (or e-learning) involves the delivery and use of educational material via any electronic media, including the internet, intranets, extranets, satellite broadcast, audio/video tape, interactive TV, CD-ROM, interactive CDs and computer-based training.
This site has been developed by the Centre for Learning and Teaching to provide information and support for staff and students with the various online learning facilities available at ECU and contains updates, resources, how-to guides and links to relevant websites.
How to use this website
The site is comprised of articles organised into relevant categories.
Click Home and you get a list of every article, with the newest displayed first.
Click MyECU and you get a full list of every article associated with MyECU (Blackboard).
Click one of the cateogries listed to the left and you get a list of articles associated with that category, which could be to do with either MyECU, Flexilecture or anything else related to online learning at ECU.
You can also search by keyword using the seach box to the right.
Content will be added as semester progresses so keep checking for news and articles - and you could subscribe to the web feeds if you like.
How do I subscribe to the web feeds?
All you need is an RSS reader (often called a News Reader), which will check for and inform you of new content received from the RSS feed. There are many products out there including download-able applications and web based solutions. Google Reader and Bloglines are just a few of the popular web readers available. You can also use Outlook 2007 to subscribe. They provide a central place for you to quickly scan and read the various feeds you have subscribed to.
Printing
To print anything off from this site (but please consider the environment before you do) simply use the File > Print funtion on your browser - unncessary images and menus shown in the website will not be printed.
