Have a look at these instructions for setting up an Elluminate Live session in a MyECU site.
Starting Elluminate Live! via MyECU
Elluminate Live! is an online collaboration tool which enables groups to communicate using text and voice and to share presentations, websites, documents, their desktops and applications.
If you are using it on campus, in a lab or via the ECU wireless network, then a few settings are required to set up the ECU Proxy, through which you need to authenticate to access the internet.
Read more about connecting through the ECU Proxy server
Also if you are launching an Elluminate session via Internet Explorer you will need to open the session in a new window by right-clicking the "join" button and selecting "Open in new window". You could also try using Firefox as an alternative.

Dimdim: free synchronous communication web tool
For anyone wanting to add some online synchronous communication to their units, this tool looks good and works well (there are a few glitches with safari but it's fine in firefox mac or pc).
Free group chat tool and how to link to it in MyECU
