Ms Lyn Farrell

BA(Murdoch) Dip ED (Murdoch) MPET (Deakin ) GAICD

Lyn Farrell is currently the Dean of the Edith Cowan University’s South West Campus. Prior to this she was the Managing Director of the Pilbara Institute, a position she has occupied for some three years. Other positions Lyn has held, throughout her career, include General Manager Organisational Services at Swan TAFE, Director Goldfields Vocational Education and Training Centre, CEO Abmusic and Academic Director at Central West College

Lyn’s formal qualifications include the degrees of Bachelor of Arts from Murdoch University and Masters in Professional Education and Training from Deakin University. She holds a Graduate Diploma (Higher Education) from Murdoch University and a Diploma from the Australian Institute of Company Directors. Lyn is currently undertaking a Professional Doctorate in Education

Lyn has a particular passion about the benefits of higher education and a focus on providing learning pathways for people from diverse backgrounds. She has spent most of her adult life living and working in regional parts of Western Australia and has been involved in community and industry committees and forums focused on improving the economic and social capacity of the community.

Lyn is currently a Board member and Chair, of two South West School Boards and a member of the South West Workforce Alliance Committee and has served as a Board member of Bunbury Wellington Economic Alliance for the last two years. She is also a member of the City of Bunbury International Relations Committee and a Board member of the South West China Business Relations Association. Lyn was also appointed by the Minister of Regional Development to the Rural, Remote and Regional (RRR) Women's Reference Group in 2014.
