Professor Atique Islam

BCom (Hons), MCom Dac, MCom NSW, PhD Sydney, FCPA, CA

Professor Atique Islam is Executive Dean of the Faculty of Business and Law and Pro-Vice-Chancellor: Engagement (Business, Law and Government) at Edith Cowan University (ECU).

Professor Islam has a wealth of teaching and learning experience having worked in a number of universities in the Asia-Pacific region over three decades. He has published in academic and professional journals and delivered keynote speeches.

Professor Islam is a seasoned academic administrator having occupied positions of responsibility in a number of universities. Prior to commencing his role at ECU in March 2010, he held the position of Dean of the Faculty of Business and Government at the University of Canberra (2008-2010) and before that, was Head of School of Commerce at the University of South Australia (2005-2008).

Professor Islam holds first class Honours and Masters degrees from the University of Dhaka, Master of Commerce (Accounting) from the University of New South Wales, and Doctor of Philosophy from the University of Sydney.

Professor Islam maintains close relations with government, industry and professional bodies.
