New ECU Vice-President

Thursday, 22 December 2011

Mr Scott Henderson has been appointed to the position of ECU Vice-President Corporate Services and will commence on 28 February 2012.

Mr Henderson comes to ECU after a series of senior, diverse leadership roles in the wider community. These include a period as the CEO of Skywest followed by a period as CEO of Harvey Beef (in the South-West of Western Australia) which was followed by his present appointment which is CEO of Netball WA.

Prior to these appointments he was the State Manager for United Airlines in Victoria and then he spent two years in Chicago as the Manager of International Strategic Planning for United Airlines.

Mr Henderson is deeply committed to the idea of cost-effective quality services and to working with fellow staff, board members and other stakeholders to deliver outcomes that are valued by the consumers/clients.

Against critical performance indicators, Mr Henderson has an enviable record of achievement at all three of his previous appointments. In addition to his prominent leadership roles as a CEO, he has served on the Board of the Tourism Council of Western Australia including three years as Chair, and he currently serves as the Deputy-Chair of the Board of Willetton Senior High School.

In accepting the offer of appointment, Mr Henderson said:

“I am particularly drawn to the values of ECU and to the University’s mission to further develop valued citizens for the benefit of Western Australia and beyond”.

“Warren Snell leaves a lasting legacy and I hope to be able to build on that foundation in the future.”

I am very confident that Mr Henderson will be an extremely valuable member of the Senior Leadership Team at ECU and I look forward to welcoming him in the New Year.
