It is my pleasure to join the Executive Dean of the Faculty of Business and Law, Professor Atique Islam, in welcoming Professor Hugh Wilkins to the role of Head of School of Marketing, Tourism & Leisure.

Professor Wilkins comes to ECU from Griffith University in Queensland where he has worked since 1996. During this period he held a number of roles including Head of School of Tourism & Hotel Management and, more recently, as Director Offshore Operations for the Griffith Business School – responsible for transnational education.

Prior to this he worked at Oxford Brookes University and Staffordshire University in the UK.

Before joining academia, Professor Wilkins also owned and managed small businesses in the hospitality industry in the UK.

Professor Wilkins has already begun his role as Head of School and I’m sure the ECU community will join me in making him feel welcome.
