City to Surf

On Sunday, 26 August it was my great pleasure to join more than 100 ECU staff and students in participating in the 2012 City to Surf.

The event attracted more than 45,000 participants and raised over $630,000 for Western Australian charity Activ.

The ECU team stood out amongst the sea of people in their red and blue running singlets, with team members participating across a range of different categories.

Congratulations to all who took part in the weekend’s event. Whether you ran or walked (I walked!), you should be proud of your achievements in participating in the event.

Thank you to the staff at ECU Sports for all their effort in organising the team and providing us with much needed food and beverages to facilitate our debriefing after our successful journeys.

I look forward seeing you all at the start line (and the finishing line) again in 2013.
