Friday, 03 August 2012

It is my pleasure to join the Pro Vice Chancellor and Executive Dean of Business and Law, Professor Atique Islam, in announcing the commencement of Professor Anne Wallace as the incoming Head of our School of Law and Justice.

Professor Wallace comes to ECU from the University of Canberra where she held the position of Associate Dean of Education in the Faculty of Business, Government and Law.

Professor Wallace is an active researcher in judicial administration with demonstrated ability to build research capacity.  She also has strong connections in courts and justice agencies in Australia as a result of her considerable professional legal experience as Deputy Director of the Australasian Institute of Judicial Administration (AIJA) and as Principal Solicitor for the Australian Government Solicitor, Tasmanian Office.

Professor Wallace will begin her role as Head of School next Monday, 6 August 2012. I am very confident, since I was on the selection panel, that Professor Wallace will be a great addition to the ECU community.

Please join me in making Anne feel very welcome.

Professor Kerry O. Cox
Vice-Chancellor
