Australian and International ChaptersEdith Cowan University’s international alumni population is diverse comprising graduates from 80 different countries. Our international graduates are an important part of ECU Alumni and our international alumni chapters assist us to stay connected with our ever growing and far-reaching network of graduates. To date ECU has recruited one Alumni Ambassador from Thailand and seven from Malaysia. The main responsibilities of Alumni Ambassadors are to organise events, create networking opportunities and keep graduates overseas in contact with one another as well as the University. Nominations for the Alumni Ambassador program are based on recommendations put forth by the faculties. Our local alumni chapters also provide a unique opportunity for alumni to stay connected with their graduating faculty. These chapters provide events, services and benefits that are specifically tailored to their particular area(s) of interest and allow alumni the opportunity to catch-up with fellow graduates from their same cohort group. For example, the Claremont Chapter was formed for all graduates of Claremont Teachers College – it has a unique link back to ECU’s heritage and as such, there is a unique spirit and strong bond amongst its members.
