Young Alumni Network

Are you unsure what is next after graduation, where to start; or who you know who may be able to help you take the next step? Increase your networks by becoming part of the Young Alumni Network.

Edith Cowan University’s Young Alumni Network (ECU YAN) was created especially for young alumni aged between 21 and 35, or those who have graduated with an ECU degree in the past ten years. We understand that going into the workforce after university can be daunting and ECU YAN can help you have a smooth transition from university life to working life.

Most importantly, we want you to stay connected with your alma mater as we can achieve a lot together!

Executive Committee and Sub-Committee

The Young Alumni Network is governed by a five-member Executive Committee, whose strategies are executed by the Sub-Committee. Both committees are staffed with enthusiastic and passionate volunteers who are committed to giving back to their alma mater by running activities, events and workshops that will benefit ECU’s young alumni cohort.

The Executive Committee is responsible for the strategic direction of the Young Alumni Network providing counsel to the Sub-Committee.

ECU YAN’s Executive Committee members are:

Sub-Committee

The Sub-Committee members are responsible for performing and coordinating activities, events and workshops as directed by the Executive Committee. Members are encouraged to initiate activities which they feel will benefit the young alumni cohort.

ECU YAN is currently accepting Expressions of Interest from our young alumni cohort for the Sub-Committee. We are currently seeking individuals for the following sub-committees:

  • Promotional Marketing and Social Media Sub-Committee
  • Events Sub-Committee
  • Outreach Sub-Committee

We expect our volunteers to be able to serve at least 12 months within the sub-committee(s). If you feel you have the leadership, marketing, event management, creative design and/or public relations skills to volunteer as part of the sub-committee, please express your interest to our Alumni Relations Team or contact 6304 2761 by answering the following questions:

  • Why you should be considered to join the Sub-Committees?
  • Were you involved in clubs and/or societies at ECU? If so, what was the extent of your involvement?
  • What unique skill sets will you bring to the Sub-Committee?
  • What would you like to take out from the experience?

Why be part of the Young Alumni Network?

The benefits are:

  • Being invited to events tailored to you that will benefit you in the area of professional and personal development;
  • Developing your professional network with alumni who are leaders and professionals in their careers;
  • Accessing a range of opportunities to meet and create long lasting friendships with friends of ECU, staff members and the wider young alumni cohort;
  • Socialising and meeting with your former ECU colleagues at social events;
  • Being an inspiration to final year students as they prepare themselves to move into the workforce

If you have further questions about the Young Alumni Network or would like to provide any suggestions to help you maximise your experience with the ECU YAN, please contact our Alumni Relations Team via alumni@ecu.edu.au.
