Changes to the Marks Recording Process
This web page is intended to provide Unit Coordinators with information
on how to submit student marks each semester.
With the introduction of the Callista Student Management System
(SMS) the process of submitting student marks has changed in a minor
way.
Essentially the process involves using a Class List downloaded
from Callista in conjunction with a new Marks Recording spreadsheet.
The process is summarised as a flowchart in Powerpoint. Click here
to view the process flowchart.
To understand and use the new Marks Recording spreadsheet you will
need to print the Instructional Guide for Academic Staff first,
which is available in a PC or MAC version. The Instructional Guide
will take you through the process step by step. Training is also
available - see below for details.
Office 2008 for Apple Macintosh and the Marks Recording spreadsheet.
There are currently compatibility issues with the Marks Recording spreadsheet and the new version of Microsoft Office for Mac – Office 2008. At this stage the new version of Office will not process information imported into the Marks Recording spreadsheet correctly. Mac users are encouraged to keep a previous version of Office installed on their computer to access the Marks Recording spreadsheet. The Systems Support team have created an instruction document to aid users who have upgraded to Office 2008. This document illustrates how to successfully use the Marks Recording spreadsheet with a previous version of Office, if you have Office 2008 installed on your Mac. The instructional PDF can be found here:
Instructions for Office 2008 Mac users and the Marks Recording Spreadsheet.
The Instructional Guide will provide details on:
- How to download a class list from Callista
- How to create and complete your own Marks Recording spreadsheets
- How to submit your Marks Recording spreadsheets
- Troubleshooting
If you are unable to use the Marks Recording spreadsheet e-mail
the Assessments Office (assessments@ecu.edu.au)
for assistance.
Marks Recording training is
available through Professional Development.
Please refer to the Professional Development calendar for upcoming courses.
