Environmental Goals
We have developed an Environmental Management System (EMS) to manage the environmental impacts of our business on the environment. The EMS is in accordance with international standards under ISO/ANZS 14001. We are focusing our efforts in the following areas to help us reduce our overall impacts and to make us a more sustainable organisation.
The EMS covers the following programs:
- Energy
- Water
- Waste and recycling
- Transport
- South West Campus Bushland
ECU uses a live environmental data monitoring system to assist in obtaining accurate and up-to-date information on our energy and water consumption and waste produced.
ECU also has a Green Office Program for ECU staff interested in the environment. Green Officers can participate in a variety of environmental experiences including workshops, field trips, discussion forums, as well as planning and undertaking projects at ECU.
