Our carbon footprint
ECU is committed to managing and reducing its carbon footprint.
The University began measuring its carbon emissions in 2008. The footprint is calculated on an annual basis and includes all three campuses and related ECU corporations. To view ECU's carbon footprint please click on the ECU Carbon Inventory Report 2010/11 link.
Monitoring our footprint allows us to both understand our impact on the environment and compare our footprint against other organisations.
ECU aims to continue reducing its carbon footprint, primarily through the accredited Environmental Management System (EMS), which details our environment policy and identifies risks, legal responsibilities and key environmental programs for energy, water, waste, and transport.
