eduroam
eduroam is a location independent wireless network, allowing mobility between participating institutions’ wireless networks. The eduroam federation allows ECU students and staff, when visiting other participating institutions, to connect to eduroam wireless networks using their ECU credentials.
Staff/Students from "eduroam" participating institutions
Access to the eduroam network is available using the login credentials provided by your home institution. A VPN connection is required and you will need to contact your home institution for any assistance.
ECU student and staff login
When travelling to another participating institution you can connect to an eduroam network by using your ECU Login ID followed by ‘@ecu.edu.au’ and password. For example, if your ECU Login ID name is jsmith9 then you would type jsmith9@ecu.edu.au.
You will need to configure your wireless device using one of the guides provided and make sure you have the VPN software installed and tested before you visit another institution.
Find eduroam at a partner institution
eduroam is deployed across many Australian universities and internationally. For more information, visit the official eduroam Australia website.
You can also verify if the institutions you are visiting are a member of the eduroam federation by viewing the institution links in the See also menu on this page.
