Student Financial Assistance for Learning Abroad

Australian Government funding

There are a range of funding sources that you may be eligible for, to assist in undertaking study overseas.

Australian Government Funding for Short Term Learning Abroad

  • New Colombo Plan (NCP) Mobility Program
  • Endeavour Mobility Grants

Please note that the above grants do not need to be applied for. If you are applying for a short term program where funding is available you will automatically be considered, subject to eligibility requirements. Australian Government Funding for Semester/year study overseas (Student Exchange or Study Abroad)

  • International Student Exchange Program (ISEP)
  • Endeavour Cheung Kong Student Exchange Program (ECKSEP)
  • NCP Semester Programs

Please note the above grants do not need to be applied for. If you are applying for exchange to a particular country or partner where funding is available you will automatically be considered, subject to eligibility requirements. Australian Government Scholarships

OS-Help

OS-Help is an Australian Government loan scheme that helps eligible students undertake some of their study overseas. OS-Help can be used for a range of expenses  associated with the overseas study, such as airfares, accommodation and other travel or study expenses. Eligible students may receive one OS-Help loan for a six-month study period and  can access a total of two OS-Help loans over their lifetime. OS-Help loans are administered through ECU on behalf of the Australian Government. Centrelink payments

Students currently receiving Centrelink payments may be able to continue to do so while on exchange. Students may also be eligible for Rental Assistance so should enquire at Centrelink before departing on exchange.
