Aligned with ECU priorities, research is a high priority for Kurongkurl Katitjin. Of particular note in 2012, the Australian Indigenous HealthInfoNet became its own, independent academic unit within Edith Cowan University and now operates separately from Kurongkurl Katitjin.
While Kurongkurl Katitjin currently has a small research agenda, it builds upon on a solid foundation of projects, primarily in the areas of Aboriginal education and health.
The Australian Indigenous HealthInfoNet is an innovative Internet resource that aims to inform practice and policy in Indigenous health by making research and other knowledge readily accessible.
Its research focuses on the area of knowledge utilisation and translation. It results in regularly updated overviews and summaries of Indigenous health status, and detailed overviews of specific health topics (including background material about these topics).
