Risk and Assurance Service Centre (RASC) deliver a value adding independent assurance function to ECU.
With a focus on education and training, RASC increases the awareness of risk management, control and compliance throughout the University by conducting consultative reviews, providing client-focused advice to ECU staff, and supporting these actions with an agreed and balanced reporting and follow up process
RASC delivers a value adding independent assurance function in respect of control, compliance, risk management and business continuity with a focus on education and training.
ECU has a comprehensive insurance program protecting its students, staff and assets. The level of insurance coverage maintained by ECU is annually reviewed following consideration of the University’s operational risks.
Our Audit Assurance service performs the internal audit function within RASC. Our role is to provide an independent assurance function to ECU with the objective of continuously improving the effectiveness of internal control and governance processes within ECU.
ECU acknowledges that the adoption of a strategic and formal approach to risk management will improve decision-making, enhance outcomes and lead to greater accountability.
Our Compliance service aims to ensure a uniform approach to compliance by ECU with all applicable laws, regulations, industry and internal codes of conduct and other compliance obligations that impact on the University’s operations.
Business Continuity Management
The Business Continuity Management program at ECU is co-ordinated by RASC and incorporates disaster recovery, emergency management and incident management.
