Emergency Medicine Crisis Resource Management

Course description

The Emergency Medicine Crisis Resource Management (EMCRM) course is developed specifically for ED staff for both doctors and nurses. The scenarios are videotaped to allow specific team behaviours to be highlighted in the debriefing sessions that follow each scenario. Importantly, the EMCRM course is not a ‘test’ of one’s ability to deal with a given crisis or memorise a particular algorithm. Rather, it is a forum for discussion about strategies that aid in the translation of knowledge of what needs to be done with regards to effective management of the situation.
