Friday Morning Program 897FM
ECU's Broadcasting course is working in partnership with community radio station 897FM to engage students in a workplace setting to further their learning. Students provide a two-hour live radio program each week, including five live news bulletins. Students undertake duties including presenter, producer, journalist and chief-of-staff and are required to provide programs relevant to a target audience in the northern suburbs of Perth.
The station broadcasts live from ECU's Mt Lawley Studios. The project provides students with a real-life broadcast experience and content for the radio station, including a quality, live and local news service.
