Business i Lab
ECU is partnering with the City of Wanneroo to offer the Business i Lab, a project designed to cultivate relationships between businesses and ECU students. The project means local entrepreneurs in the Wanneroo area can benefit from specialist knowledge of business and law students.
A free scheme, the Business i Lab helps local businesses and entrepreneurs bring ideas to life through the input of ECU students. Students are assigned to pursue business submissions in a process that develops student abilities while assisting the business accomplish something that might otherwise be difficult to incorporate into daily operations. Each semester, 10-15 students work on Business i Lab projects in the final Business Edge Unit.
The Business i Lab is open to all industries and is designed to foster business innovation and growth in Wanneroo, while providing students with improved learning outcomes and local employment opportunities. Benefits for students and business include the creation of relationships, no-cost assistance to businesses, the gaining of employability skills in real-life situations and retention of knowledge in the region The program has received support from its local government partners and was recognised as an excellent example of industry partnership in the Business/Higher Education Round Table (B-HERT) publication, Partnerships @ Work.
