Primary School Behaviour Centre evaluation program
ECU's School of Education is working with the WA Department of Education to evaluate primary school behaviour centres through a tender worth $105,000.
The program requires ECU to look at evaluating the effectiveness of five new State Primary Behaviour Centres to assist primary schools in managing and engaging students with severely challenging behaviours. The centres provide intensive practical support to individual students and teachers by analysing behavioural and education strategies and developing education and behavioural plans.
The partnership builds on two earlier Department of Education and Training projects that ECU had been involved in, examining the link between classroom behaviour and academic achievement and evaluating the State Government's $63 million Behaviour Management and Discipline strategy.
