South West Institute of Training partnership
ECU has strengthened its relationship with its Educational Precinct partner, the South West Institute of Training, by developing an agreement that allows for students from the South West Institute of Training to receive advance standing towards ECU qualifications and provides for the transition into university by accepting a range of TAFE qualifications as meeting entry requirements to ECU courses.
This offers benefits for both education providers and is particularly beneficial for students who have TAFE qualifications or who wish to avail themselves of education and training at both institutions.
ECU has also provided for the further education of TAFE teachers and educators by offering the Bachelor of Learning and Organisational Development (Unit K88), which provides professional development for people engaged in adult teaching and training roles in a wide variety of organisations. The unit is useful for people in private sector service industries, government departments, TAFE and the armed services and applicants must be experienced trainers or TAFE lecturers to undertake the unit.
The offering of this unit has been found to be useful to the South West Institute of Training as well as having regional benefits by providing trainers with advanced skills in needs analysis, program design and instructional strategies that are useful for industry.
