Keynotes

Richard BL Soh

Richard is the CEO of the SMa Institute of Higher Learning.  He has a MA in Marketing Management from Macquarie Graduate School of Management, Macquarie University, Australia and is currently pursuing a Doctorate in Education at Durham University, UK.

Richard has 34 years of experience both locally and in the region of which the past 21 years has been in senior management roles with Multi National Companies and large local groups.  He has spent 22 years in manufacturing environment in Japan, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand and China and 12 years in retail and service industries in Singapore, Malaysia and Hong Kong.

Richard was the Hon. Treasurer of Singapore Manufacturers’ Federation (SMa) (2006 to 2008), a council member (2004 to 2008) and a member of the Business Development Committee (2002 to 2004) that created the concept of establishing SMa Institute of Higher Learning to build capacity for the Federation’s members. SMa is a not-for-profit organisation representing the more than 2,800 manufacturing and manufacturing related companies in 11 Industry Groups.

He was Hon. Treasurer of HomeTeam NS Executive Committee (HTNS) from 2000 to 2009 and a current committee member since 1997. HTNS is a non profit organisation representing more than 200,000 National Servicemen of the Police and Civil Defence force.

Additionally he was a member of the CPE Working Group on Academic Quality and Delivery (2010/2011) and he is the second Vice President of the Association of Private Schools and Colleges in Singapore (2010 to 2012).

He is multi-lingual in English, Mandarin, Cantonese, Hokkien, Teochew Bahasa Indonesian and some Japanese.
