Conference Programme: Symposia (PDF) [UPDATED] 26 Jun 02

Conference Programme: Workshops (PDF) [UPDATED] 26 Jun 02

Conference Format

The conference format enables delegates to contribute to the programme in a variety of ways. Each format will provide the opportunity for quality conversations to develop around challenging and engaging ideas in higher education. Delegates with refereed papers may present in any format they choose, delegates with reviewed abstracts are excluded from the Symposia.

Plenary sessions
Keynote presentations that support the conference theme.
Symposia
20-minute refereed paper presentations that are grouped around a theme, either by the conference committee or by the presenters themselves. A panel discussion will follow. The theme may be discipline based, eg nurse education, or issue based, eg technology.
Round Tables
10-minute presentations of refereed papers or reviewed abstracts each followed by a conversation. Delegates will choose one of the three presenters to talk with round a table.
Workshops
Extended activity and discussion based sessions around refereed papers or reviewed abstracts.
Posters
Visual presentation of either refereed papers or reviewed abstracts to be displayed throughout the conference. A session will be scheduled in the programme for conversations with the author of a poster. This mode can be the sole presentation of work or in addition to one of the other formats.
Special Interest Groups
Discussion opportunities for HERDSA Special Interest Groups and other groups that may develop.

Pre-conference workshops

A programme of pre-conference workshops will be offered on Sunday between 9:00 am and 4:00 pm. Details of the programme including a separate registration form are available on the conference website.
