Refereed Papers

Dear participant
Thank you for your conference presentation which helped to make the conference a success. For your reference we have moved the conference details.
You are now invited to submit a full paper based on your conference presentation to be considered through a peer review process for the refereed conference publication.
Paper format
Papers should be no more than 3000 words and be formatted according to the guidelines found at the end of this documentPaper submission

Refereeing process
Submitted papers will be forwarded to referees for blind refereeing to comply with DETYA refereed conference paper standards. Referees will review papers against suitable criteria for the conference theme. They will recommend whether or not the paper should be accepted for inclusion in the refereed publication. Full papers submitted for double blind review are expected to meet these criteria:
Publication
- Relevance to target audience: Does the paper relate well to it's target audience, university teachers, and to the conference theme Partners in Learning?
- Importance/applicability: How important is this topic for university teachers and how applicable is the research to the target audience?
- Quality of the research: Does the paper take into account current research and thinking on the topic?
- Readability: Is the paper clearly written, concise and organised?
The paper will be published in full online through the conference website.

Submit paper by 11th April
Notification of acceptance by 3rd June
Publication online August 2003
Guidelines for Paper Format
Each paper should have Part A (on a separate sheet), and Part B
PART A - The cover sheet should includePaper title (Times New Poman, 14pt, bold, centred, sentence case
Place two lines after the paper title)
Your name, department and institution (Times New Roman 12 pt, sentence case, centred with principal author listed first)
Contact details for principal author (postal address, telephone & fax number, email address)
Author biography(s) 75 words maximum.
PART B - the paper should include (starting on a separate sheet)
Paper title
An abstract of 250 words (repeated)
Paper no more than 3000 words including references
Note: Author name(s) should not appear on Part B
Format requirements for Publication of Papers on the Web
These guidelines for paper preparation are quite easy to achieve with most software. An example following this page illustrates the main layout requirements.
Page size, margins, alignment
A4 page. Top and bottom margins, 2 cm. Left and right margins, 3 cm
Spacing
All text single-spaced, left aligned (not justified) unless otherwise specified
Font & size
Times New Roman, 12pt unless otherwise specified
Paper title
14pt, bold, centred, sentence case
Place two lines after the paper title
Abstract
10pt, italics, indented 1 cm both left and right side
Place two blank lines before and after the abstract
The abstract must be no more than 300 words
Normal text
12pt, single-spaced, left aligned (not justified)
Place one line space between paragraphs. Do not indent the first line of each paragraph
Long quotes (roughly, quotes of 30 words or more)
10pt, indented 1 cm left and right
1st level of subheading
12pt, bold, sentence case, left aligned
Leave one line space before and after this level of subheading.
Do not number subheadings
2nd level of subheading
12pt, italics, sentence case, left aligned
Leave one line space before and after this level of subheading.
Do not number subheadings
Tables and figures
Captions in 12pt, bold, sentence case, centred
Page numbers
Please insert page numbers at the bottom of the page, right aligned. (These will be removed during compilation.)
Footnotes
Please avoid using footnotes.
If unavoidable, make endnotes at the end of the article.
References and citations
Please use the APA citation and reference style. List references under the 1st level subheading, References
Diagrams
Diagrams, illustrations, graphs etc. must be in jpg or gif format for web publication.
