OH&S specialist stream caters to workplace safety law changes

From January 1, 2022 there will be changes to the WA Work Health and Safety Act (2020) that increase duty of care responsibilities for workplaces and for OHS professionals. In response to the anticipated need to upskill people in OHS-related roles, we've created a specialist stream within our online Graduate Certificate course.

In this stream, you'll study one core unit in Workplace Health and Safety Law, plus two elective units from a range of topics tailored to varying OHS roles and responsibilities. View course page.

Her course covers a broad spectrum of public health issues, from communicable diseases, epidemiology, aspects of leadership and strategic decision making.

    A key aspect of my course was my 4th year practicum. This is where I knew I was in the right field. The face-to-face experience, the pressure-free learning and endless support from the prac coordinator made my experience amazing. To cap it all off, following graduation I was offered a position at ECU's Vario Wellness Clinic!

    I've always wanted to pursue a career in medical research

    I heard ECU's Biomedical Science course covered many aspects of medical research, including genetics and human biology, so I saw this as an opportunity to further my education in this field. I've been able to gain practical experience in a laboratory outside of university and found this has increased the value of my CV immensely.

    I've also received the Fertility North Prize in Reproductive Biology. This award has opened the door for possible postgraduate studies in an established laboratory.

Applying for a course is a fairly simple process, especially if you have scanned copies of qualifications, your resume or other paperwork, ready to upload.
