ECU Teacher Education graduate, Hannah Dodds talks about her experience.
"ECU’s practical experience put me in a good position to win a national teaching award."
"Growing up, I always wanted to be a teacher. My passion for working with children was further developed through coaching soccer. I decided to study teaching at ECU based on its excellent reputation. While studying I received valuable feedback from my mentors and supervisors, and always felt supported by my tutors. This was particularly important while juggling study as well as playing for the Perth Glory Women’s team in the national W-League. My overall experience studying at ECU was really positive. One of the major benefits that I gained from my course was the time I spent on prac which has put me in a good position for the first two years of my career. I was surprised and very humbled to have recently been awarded a National OfficeMax Exceptional Teacher Award!"
"I was given the opportunity to work with the best professionals in the teaching field."
"I chose ECU because they have the best reputation for teacher education. My time at ECU has been life changing. I was given the opportunity to work with the best professionals in my field, with years of international experience. These professionals will go the extra mile to assist you – and make a real difference to your education. My prac was spent in Perth metropolitan schools, learning how schools and our communities work together to benefit all. I have observed, organised and taught. This first-hand experience has been vital for my development as an Early Childhood teacher and will no doubt benefit me throughout my career."
