At ECU, we think everyone has the potential to be whatever they want.
We're home to a great mix of students – from people straight out of high school, to mature age students, international students who’ve moved to Perth, and a growing number of online students.
We go out of our way to help our students start on their journey, including offering different entry options to our undergraduate courses. And we provide an interesting mix of courses across eight different study areas.
We hope you can join us!
ECU is one of the world's best young universities*.
We're young and we're curious. We’re constantly scanning what's happening in the world to help us design courses that are challenging and practical.
To keep things real, we develop our programs by consulting with industry groups and others who know what’s needed from the next wave of graduates.
And our students don't spend all their time in classrooms. There are field trips, work placements with employers, networking events, international study tours and opportunities to study overseas at other unis.
That's how university should be.

ECU offers a diverse range of undergraduate courses and our facilities are some of the best you'll find at any university in Australia.
We have one of Australia's fastest growing Engineering Schools, the largest Nursing program in Western Australia, and our exercise science laboratories are considered among the best in the Southern Hemisphere.
The oldest and most popular School of Education in Western Australia can be found here, along with one of the most comprehensive Arts & Hummanities Schools in the Southern Hemisphere.
We're also home to WAAPA, one of the world's leading performing arts academies.
Don't just take our word for it! Here's what some of our students have to say about why they chose to study at ECU.
Broadcasting and Journalism
Exercise and Sports Science
"Choosing the right environment to study played a huge part in my decision to enrol at ECU. It's not as big as the other WA universities which made it easier to get around. Before enrolling, I came to see what the uni was like and fell in love with the calm student environment. The friendly staff and students made it a more comfortable experience. ECU offers so much to its students and that's what I loved, everyone is so willing to help you out."
Biomedical Science student
"I had friends at ECU who had told me all about the excellent support services, the wonderful lecturers/tutors and all the amazing opportunities like study tours and extra prac units. I was studying at another university at the time, where I wasn't happy with what I was studying, so I changed to ECU."
Communications & Arts student
"It wasn't a matter of choosing between universities in WA, but all across Australia. I wanted somewhere that was online, was respected in the academic community and had an interesting and variable study program. ECU offers that."
Teacher Education student
"Edith Cowan University is a small enough university that allows for the close connections between teachers and students, but also big enough that it allows for the diversity of many different backgrounds and cultures. I selected ECU because it allows you to get the most out of your studies."

At ECU, we understand that many people want to study, but have commitments like work and family that can make it hard to get to lectures.
It's why many of our undergraduate courses can be studied online.
