  • Shae Thompson

    Shae Thompson

ECU Exercise & Sports Science student

I'm hoping it's a springboard to turning my hobby and my passion into a career

I've always wanted to be a performance analyst – I love football, I love statistics and you put the two together and it's my dream job. Being at Perth Glory on prac I get to experience that in real time and I'm really hoping it's a springboard to turning my hobby and my passion into a career.

  • Secondary teaching student, Alexander Gibbs with high school arts students on a teaching practicum.

    Alexander Gibbs

ECU Secondary Visual Arts Education graduate

Every unit from my degree has been helpful and I have been able to put the skills I have learnt into practice in the classroom.

I have a love for art that I wanted to be able to share with others, so I decided to study Secondary Education at ECU with a major in Visual Arts. I believe ECU is the best university for Teacher Education as they have a variety of disciplines, and provide so much real life experience in classrooms.

I was a bit nervous about going out on practicum placement at first, but this experience helped confirm that teaching was the career I want to pursue.

  • Mikayla King

    Mikayla King

    ECU Early Childhood Education graduate

I gained employment straight after my final practicum placement

The Early Childhood Teaching course is extremely practical. I was in the classroom on placements from my first semester, which allowed me to put theory into practice.

I formed really great two-way relationships with my lecturers. They all came from teaching backgrounds, and were able to pass on knowledge from their own experience of classrooms and early learning settings.
