Nine teachers from the Bunbury Edith Cowan University campus are jet setting off to China to teach English at a school in Bunbury’s sister city of Jaixing.
The teaching program sees the teachers in China for two weeks and teaching 700 students English at a summer school using western teaching techniques.
ECU dean, Lyn Farrell will be accompanying the teachers and says their lessons are around Australian culture.
The students have already studied English but teachers will have a teaching assistant to help with any communication issues. The teachers will be using an interactive style of teaching which is foreign to the students.
