Graeme Innes – Reimagining Disadvantage in Australia

Monday, 15 August 2016

ECU is helping Bunbury with its aim to become the Most Accessible Regional City in Australia (MARCIA) through a jointly-funded PhD research scholarship. PhD student Adam Johnson presented the proposed study as part of a disability access and inclusion forum in Bunbury on Monday, 22 August 2016 that was attended by 150 people.

The event also featured keynote addresses by Graeme Innes, former Australian Human Rights and Disability Discrimination Commissioner, and Professor Tim Stainton, Director of the Centre for Citizenship and Inclusion in Canada.

Graeme Innes was invited to give a guest lecture at ECU South West campus the following day, which was well attended by students and staff from Nursing, Social Work, Education and Fine Arts.
