Dr Donna Mazza

“I love to see the enthusiasm students get with writing and watch them achieve beyond what they thought was possible.”

As a PhD student at ECU, I was invited to teach at the Faculty of Regional Professional Studies in the Creative Industries discipline. I saw this as a great opportunity to kick-start my career in academia and move to the country. I really value the students here at ECU. So many of them are coming to literature and writing with a sense of awe and excitement, which I find gives me energy. I love to see the enthusiasm students get with writing and watch them achieve beyond what they thought was possible for them. I have a small team of staff in my programme that I trust and respect their great minds. Since moving to teaching in 2004, I have received a great deal of encouragement from my peers and have valued the listening and support that the management have shown me in my everyday work and my new writing initiatives.Senior Lecturer, School of Arts and Humanities
