Flag-raising Ceremonies

To launch, symbolically, Pride Month we will be holding flag-raising ceremonies at the Joondalup campus at 9.00am on Tuesday, 7 October and at the Mount Lawley campus at 9.00am on Wednesday, 8 October. Anyone wishing to attend can meet at the relevant campus flag poles. Mount Lawley’s flag poles are located on the corner of Alexander Drive and Bradford Street and Joondalup’s are just outside the southern entrance to Building 31, near Joondalup Drive.  A morning tea will be provided after each ceremony so please RSVP online.

ALLY Training

The ALLY Network seeks to create a more diverse and inclusive culture by promoting greater visibility and awareness of Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgender and Intersex (GLBTI) individuals and their related issues. By adopting this program, the University is educating and training mainly heterosexual staff to be sensitive to GLBTI people and their issues.

As part of Pride Month we will be holding further ALLY training at the Mount Lawley campus on Tuesday, 21 October from 9.00am to 1.30pm.  Please contact Harbhani Bansal for further information.

ECU will be displaying the “Not Just Art Exhibition” at our Joondalup Campus from Tuesday, 7 October until the end of the month. This exhibition is an informational exhibition highlighting the achievements of GLBTI people outside the stereotypical area of arts.  It profiles significant scientists, journalists, athletes, soldiers, inventors and other members of our society.
