Senior Lecturer in Planning, Mr Tim Perkins, has recently been invited to join the Urban Development Institute of Australia’s (UDIA) Environment Committee for the Western Australian division.

The UDIA is the peak membership organisation representing the property industry, promoting excellence and innovation in the creation of sustainable communities in Western Australia.

The UDIA has a range of committees, made up of volunteers from the wider UDIA membership. These committees provide valuable feedback and advice on a range of issues impacting on the industry.

The Environment Committee provides leadership and promotes best practice in the urban development industry. They also consider government environmental policies and their implications for the urban development industry and recommend to the UDIA Council appropriate action.

Mr Perkins is delighted to have been invited to join the Environment Committee.

“I am really pleased to have been invited to become a member of the UDIA Environment Committee (WA). The UDIA plays an important role in developing Western Australian towns and cities and the Environment Committee plays a substantial role in encouraging sustainable urban development. I look forward to working closely with colleagues in the development and sustainability sectors,” he said.
