On 4 September three former ECU law students from the School of Law and Justice were admitted as legal practitioners in a ceremony presided over by Chief Justice of WA, Wayne Martin AC QC. 

In order to practice law in WA, a person must be 'moved' by one of their peers to gain acceptance into their professional body.

ECU lecturer Mr Michael Crowley moved the admission of Mr Neil Henderson. Recent law graduates Mr Stewart Kattowitz and Mr John Toyne were also admitted as legal practitioners. Amongst the local lawyers moving admissions were past ECU law graduates Mr Brett Owen of Anvil Legal and Ms Katharine McKenzie of Jackson McDonald.
