Degrees Restaurant back in business for Semester Two

Thursday, 11 August 2011

Degrees Restaurant will re-open for Semester Two on Wednesday 17 August, with options for both light lunches and three course affairs on offer in their exciting new menu.

The restaurant is an on-campus training facility, providing the opportunity for Hospitality Management students to test out their culinary skills in a real-world setting.

Being a training restaurant, customers can enjoy the benefit of quality food at great prices. There are light choices such as chorizo and olives with garlic bread for $6, and more substantial fare such as pan fried snapper with tomato, asparagus and lemon butter sauce for $14. And for just $6 each, customers can enjoy delicious desserts, such as the vanilla crème brulee with cinnamon churros. The restaurant is also fully licensed, with limited beer, wine and soft drinks available.

The students involved are currently studying HOS2110 Food and Beverage Management, and with the help of Restaurant Lecturer Chad Tilbury and Chef Lecturers Jason Smith and Chris Kell, hope to share their skills and knowledge with real customers in this training environment.

Located in Building 9, the restaurant will be open for lunch on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays between 11.30am and 2.30pm. Last orders are taken at 1.45pm.
