Biometric defeat testing
The increased reliance on electronic security devices has augmented the need for high level security to evaluate products and devices used in the protection of critical areas and services. The biometric testing conducted by ECU looks to ascertain specific vulnerabilities within specific products, or groups of products, in this area.
Defeat testing of this kind is conducted in order to assist evaluations and determinations for implementation across a wide variety of applications at the national security level. Biometrics are becoming a more widely accepted element in security systems because they look at physical characteristics that stay relatively constant over the course of a person’s life, and are reasonably difficult to fake.
secau’s research in this area is focused on how biometric devices can be deceived and whether this deception forms a reliable method for penetrating security systems.
