Multi-Wavelength Multi-Beam Microphotonic Sensor for Security Applications
I started my PhD at ESRI in June 2008. The area of my research is Multi-Wavelength Multi-Beam Micro-photonic Sensor for Security Applications.
I have designed and demonstrated the concept of a photonic-based multi-wavelength sensor for the identification and discrimination of intruding objects. The sensor employs a laser combination module, an optical cavity waveguide used as a multi-beam generator and a high speed photo detector. The laser module is composed of five different wavelengths such as 473nm, 532nm, 635nm, 670nm and 785nm for discrimination of various intruding objects in the secured area. The key-wavelengths are usually optimised to identify target objects through their spectral signatures.
Qualifications
I completed my Bachelor’s degree in Electronic Science in 2001 and my Master’s degree in Electronics from the University of Madras,India in 2003. Subsequently, I completed my Master of Philosophy (M.Phil) from the same university in 2004.
