The Survey Research Centre provides survey and research support services to organisations, groups and individuals involved in academic research and community focused pursuits across the education, medical and health sector. We also undertake commissioned surveys for other organisations such as university departments, public sector agencies, non-government organisations and private companies. Established in 2008 in the Faculty of Computing, Health and Sciences at ECU’s Joondalup Campus, the Survey Research Centre (ECU-SRC) is a new, fully accredited IQCA facility that has also achieved Standard ISO 20252 accreditation.
Knowledge and expertise
The Survey Research Centre is staffed by an academic director, project co-ordinator, survey data officer, an administration assistant, three experienced supervisors and an experienced team of telephone and field interviewers (approximately 50 members).
Along with the interviewing team all other project staff are skilled at interviewing and the whole team believes in a personal and hands on approach to all respondents. Respondents are valued and respected at the Research Centre, and this provides huge benefits for all clients including high response rates, quality data, with practical and effective feedback.
Our approach is to meet with our clients to develop a joint understanding of the problem or research question and to clarify the appropriate course of action. We then agree on clear goals, costs and responsibilities. We maintain ongoing communication with the client at all stages, to enable opportunities for input and feedback.
We welcome client visits to the Survey Research Centre to observe the facilities and their data collection. The Survey Research Centre, being part of the University, believes in collection of quality data and high responses.
Our interviewers are valued as an integral part of the team. Their feedback is valued and promoted, resulting in our research centre having a stable, consistent team.
