8th AMSA Student Workshop Group
Thibaut organised the AMSA WA Annual Student Workshop with great support of Candace. It was held on the 22-23 July on Rottnest Island, with thirteen students from three universities making the trip. The first day was comprised of student oral presentations, which were of a high standard with a strong attendance of ECU students. Among them, Charu, Gary and Candace gave a presentation of their research. The second day consisted of talks by guest speakers from a range of backgrounds: Pippa Moore (ECU), Michael Rule (Department of Environment and Conservation), Gary Jackson (Department of Fisheries), Mat Vanderklift (CSIRO) and Spencer Shute (Worley Parsons), offered career advices and talked about their personal experiences. Feedback regarding the workshop was very positive.
