Thibaut top ASPAB student presentation
Congratulations to Thibaut de Bettignies for being awarded the best student presentation at the Australasian Society for Phycology and Aquatic Botany conference on Rottnest Island, 15-18 November 2010. His presentation was on part of his PhD study on the processors driving kelp dislodgement form temperate reefs. Thibaut’s presentation was awarded first prize for the novelty of his work, his clear understanding of the complex mechanisms driving kelp dislodgment and the clarity of his presentation. Fellow Centre researcher, Kathryn McMahon, also attended the conference and presented a paper on the dynamics of seagrass wrack, quantifying generation and accumulation in different nearshore habitats.
