Adeline, Stephanie and Cindy at ParkC
As part of our "subtypes of Parkinson's" research project, a team from ParkC headed down to ECU's Southwest campus to involve the Bunbury Parkinson's community in our research. The involvement of people in more regional areas is an important step as it means that the true range of Parkinson’s experiences will be reflected in our research.
The ParkC students were quick to come on board and volunteer their time. We were fortunate enough to have Adeline, Charlotte, Cindy, Kerry, and Sumita. The plan was for them to rotate through the week so that everyone could share in the experience. Stephanie, ParkC's Research assistant, put together a gruelling schedule so that we were able to involve as many Bunbury participants as possible – Over 5 days we assessed 22 people!
To the people from Bunbury and surrounds, thank you so much for your enthusiasm, dedication and commitment to research! Despite the atrocious weather, no-one cancelled and we hope you all left with a smile. The ParkC team loved meeting you and sharing your stories and we cannot wait to come back to Bunbury. Thank you also to the team at ECU Southwest for helping making our week run so smoothly.
