Field validation of a laboratory developed heat stress intervention in the Australian liquid natural gas sector
This project was funded jointly by the Australia-China natural gas technology partnership research fund (Gas fund) and Woodside. During the summer of 2010 human physiological responses to work in hot environments were monitored in an off-shore as well as an on-shore work environment. These data were used to assess the relevance of commonly used heat exposure indices and to test the effectiveness of a laboratory developed ice slurry cooling modality under operational conditions.
