Safe and affordable nurse staffing

The aim of this three year research project is to establish baseline nurse sensitive outcomes which monitor patient safety; implement and evaluate different staffing models in the acute care areas that complement the use of workload models; and to evaluate roles and benefits of new support workers, such as assistants in nursing, in relation to efficiency, patient safety, patient satisfaction and human resources.
