Disease types

An overview about each of the diseases for which immunisation is required for clinical placement has been provided for you.

It is recommended that you familiarise yourself with each of the following diseases, their symptoms, transmission and how the medical community seeks to prevent their further transmission:

• Measles;
• Mumps;
• Rubella or German Measles;
• Varicella or Chickenpox;
• Hepatitis B;
• Diphtheria;
• Tetanus;
• Polio;
• Pertussis or Whooping Cough;
• Tuberculosis.
